Then please help me lol.

I really like what I am seeing with the Envy 17.

As for the ASUS recommendation its not IVY and not 1080p and I need it somewhat portable, that laptop is flipping HUGE!

for a 17.3 what laptop can I do better with for $1142.

17.3 is gonna be big regardless. Try some configs over at xoticpc.com

Thanks for the site, never woulda saw this, after some looking it seems it costs significantly more to get much less than what I paid.

$740 seems great for the specs.
