Okay since XFX has no dedicated OC software of they're own, have voltage locked my card and runs at a measly default of 1.1v (play hard? More like play safe
), i want to try pencil mod my card to just get 900-950Mhz out of the core. So far i'm stable at 850/1350 but i feel my card do a lot better. I've tried everything on the software front, including flashing to a BIOS with a default higher voltage but to no avail. The card wouldn't accept any voltage change no matter what i did (XFX suck, seriously! No wonder the lifetime warranty gimmick). I got a hold of a pic of my card's PCB from a fellow OCN member who tried doing the same and outlined the different resistors that could be shaded to facilitate a voltage bump.

I've tried shading the green resistors..on both sides but that made no difference. I doubt any voltage increased because temps were the same and card was still unstable beyond 850. The yellow one however, gets the card to act up. If i shade either side a little bit or a little too dark, the card starts up with the fan on 100% load and the screen stays blank. Any help guys? I'd really appreciate it. I have no experience with pencil mods neither do i have a multimeter. I just wanna shade enough on the right resistor to get a decent voltage bump.

). Hope it works. I'll shade very little at a time right? like a thin line across the side of the resistor?
. Screw XFX
