[RS] Origin’s Landmark 9.0 Update. - Page 8

So, is there an op system available, that will run Origin, that does'nt have a clock somewhere on its desktop already??

Dear EA, I would like to volunteer my services as Chief Ideas Person, as the one you have obviously stumbled into a broom closet some time ago, and has been unable to find his/her way out since....

@ SlackerITGuy

I would say that Steam wants the DLC and stuff to go through it's servers so you wouldn't have to open up BF3 on steam, then have to open origin to update the game......it is redundant to have two digital distribution platforms needed for one game to work properly. EA just didn't want to do that, which is odd considering how ridiculous that sounds. And steam didn't want to change their TOS.

I don't see how limiting your games to one platform though would be the best business decision. I mean if your games are on every distribution platform you would reach the most people.

Secondly, easy as creating an app? Showing the time for example is not that hard at all. I have done tons of programming and depending on what language they are using, the methods vary slightly. But I'm sorry, in order to give it a title of a major release they need to do major revamping. Not make big hype about very minimalistic things. Also, creating an app, such as a mobile phone application, is not THAT easy to do. I mean unless you are one of those generic mobile app companies, that just copy-pasta other games on the market and slap new textures on the game.
Finally, they ARE focusing on creating a better service at selling games through Origin, which is an application or program. If they want to improve and compete more with selling games, they need to do major updates to the application which is supplying the service aka the program.

Why are you still talking about things you know nothing about ? a few tweaks, goddamn. I can't and won't say much about this but it's incredibly revamped back and front end. What i said about them not making a better program and more about games was pretty stupid on my part.

Use the client when it comes out if you have more complaints, bring them up then orrrr keep talking crap about something you have never even used.

You make it sound like having this new features is as easy as creating an app, it's not even close.
They are competing, at selling games. Not making a better program

LoL, might want to re-read what you just said.

"They are competing at selling games" – Yeah, like how all steakhouses are just selling steak. rolleyes.gif

Gamestop sells games, Walmart sells games, Target sells games, Toy'r Us sells games, Steam sells games, Origin sells games. Why do customers go to one store and not the other? How you differentiate yourself, offer better value, convenience and customer service is how one company differentiates itself from the other company. That is how you compete for business, that is how you grow your business. Also, your business model. Valve is not well known to milk their gamers with DLC and rehashes of the same game year after year. EA does that, and that is why everyone hates EA and hope they burn to the ground.

Whoever stupid idea to launch BF3 from a separate browser is a proof EA's people lack common intuition.
