Advice on setup

Thread Starter
Are there any suggestions on this setup? Like maybe I could swap something around for a cheaper but more efficient part etc. And also I havn't included cooling for the motherboard, should I buy a separate air cooler or waterblocks for them if it's going to limit the oc. any help appreciated

cheers

That's a lot of money for a WC system
I don't know the performance of the koolance products, but seeing that they are 3/8" you are overpaying for the performance. You could spend half of that, and get a far superior setup. Look at Swiftech apex ultra, and go from there. I know the koolance looks pretty and all, but that's alot of money for pretty.

The Swiftech Apex Ultra has to be the best starter kit going. You can always add more water blocks as you need them...Swiftech Apex Ultra Dual 120mm Water Cooling Kit

Yea, for the money you were going to drop, you could do a nice custom setup. I was hinting to start with the components of the Swiftech apex ultra, and customize from there. If you wanna be real slick, get a Stinger. It's the best CPU block you can get(based on opinion, not fact), and it's limited production.

But the swiftech kit in the link has the APOGEE cpu cooler included, so if I'm going to go full custom I probably want to drop that kit completely.

I'm assuming swiftech radiator, pump and ram/chipset waterblock are close to (if not the) best performance wise, then I can throw in my original 7950GX2 gpu waterblock from danger den and "Stinger" CPU waterblock.

So is that the best combination? (I'm thinking in terms of price/performance)

I didn't mean buy that kit and then change it, I meant start looking at that kit, and then upgrade from there.

but on a serious note, I'd take Ira-K's advise and build a kit. You'll learn allot and will be highly flexible to future mods. It will also yield better performance as well as look nice.
