My overclocking journey - Page 2

I was thinking that I would benefit from better thermal paste, but apparently the H100 comes with really good stuff already, though I might have messed it up during installation.

Wish list:

I'm very interested in Indigo Extreme. The highest thermal conductivity I had seen before that was the prolimatech k-3 at 11 W/m but Indigo Extreme has 20 W/m. And the installation looks... "fun" smile.gif

I'm kind of thinking of returning my H100 (especially considering the problem with it) and getting a custom loop kit. That sounds like fun. But... I really don't have time to play with things much right now.

Okay, so I'm going to return the H100 for refund. Thanks Microcenter! No problems with shipping it back for a refund.

And I just ordered the XSPC Raystorm EX240. After spending too much time reading various stuff, I determined that I want the quality components of the Raystorm (over the Rasa), but I'll wait to upgrade the radiator maybe someday. The 240 will be plenty for right now.

Something while shopping:

Even though Sidewinder Computers has the EX240 for $10 more than jab-tech, it is not the base kit. It includes MX-4 thermal compound, duralene tubing and more of it, and PT Nuke. Plus, the best part, call them up and they'll customize it. I considered but didn't upgrade the tubing to tygon, but I did upgrade the fans to akasa vipers.

So, major thank you to Sidewinder!

I had been to dazmode and love how they do custom kits but they're shipping charge is painful (because from Canada probably). So I was wishing there was an equivalent here in the states. Apparently Sidewinder is it.
