G400 lift off distance

Hi, I just got my G400 in the mail today. I'm very happy with all but one thing - the lift off distance. It's about 4 CD's and is really quite annoying/detrimental to my gameplay. Is this a problem with all G400s, or just mine? I've had an MX518 in the past and the LOD never bothered me this much. My mousepad is a Puretrak Talent. I'm going to buy some Magic Tape tomorrow.

One question with the Magic Tape fix: do I cover the entire sensor, or just the bottom half? Thanks.

Neither of my G400s have a lift off that high. For the tape trick Thunda made a quick guide here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1211083/tape-trick-for-lower-liftoff-distance-lod-with-optical-mice

Okay, thanks. Another question: is this magic tape fix known to give any tracking/jitter problems? Because if it is, I won't bother.

Alright, thanks. I'll try the tape fix tomorrow, and if that doesn't work then I'll get in contact with Logitech I guess.

I've read that the puretrak talent increase the LOD, you might want to try another pad to see if it help.

white mousepads seem to have lower LOD than black ones. i switched to a black one and then i had to apply the tape trick because the LOD bothered me, with the tape trick applied it's even better than with the white pad before smile.gif

my puretrak talent gives me too high LOD for my taste even with tape(maybe it's still too transparent), while on my qck i get the LOD even too low when i tape to close to the lens.
