Depends on taste, sensor wise they'll be about the same.

Laser mouse sucks.

Their sizes are qutie different though, and you probably need to change your grip if you switch from IE 3.0 to Savu...

I can adapt to shape if the LOD is consisten as the 3.0, when I lift 3.0 and put it down, the crosshair does not move any pixel, I love that + the precise feeling is like sex (in the good way).
I tried DA (too much lod), 3 Abyssus (jittering), G400 (It was quite impressive still have it), AM (laggy, imprecise, too little, a ****), xai (positive accel), sensei (positive accel).
Glockater said that the savu had the same precision as his 3.0 that's why I want to give a try (I need a 3.0 with more IPS).

MLG sensei isn't going to be any better in terms of raw feel. Basically a Sensei vanilla with a bit what I see as "smoothing" on ROM level.

Savu's lift off distance is similar to DA per surface basis. I think people should try different pad instead of complaining about a slightly higher lift off on a basic cheaper surface....

I don't really have an issue after taking the time to adapt, but I'm not everyone.

I had a great experience with the xai and now the sensei, also I was very impressed with Steelseries and how they dealt with customer relations. After over 2 years my Xai just up and crapped it's pants. I play 6+ hours a day of competitive Counter Strike: Source so I can assure I got my 89.99 out of it. Steelseries support took it back, no receipt, and over warrenty. It took about a month, but I did get a brand new Sensei in the mail unopened in box for free. I'v worked a lot of customer service jobs, so I really appreciate they were nice and helpful about it all.

I got replacement from Steelseries for my Xai. And I must admit they have improved a lot from Xai to Sensei. I say about 70% improvement over Xai.
Its has very stable polling rate on 499hz. Dust doesn't get in lens. Random lockups are stopped. Cursor doesn't jump. I use 450 or 900 dpi which are Native for sensor. Do not use other dpi settings tracking isn't as good as native DPI steps 450 / 900 and so on.

I do not feel any acceleration in game. I just wish it was less that 90 grams. I might buy some Guilds wars or RAW sensei if it would tack same and comes in lower price. biggrin.gif

I do not have Taipan and I will never buy it. It is way too overpriced for something which has no dedicated drivers and poor support from Razer.

Razer IMO went from providing highly specialized gaming hardware to now focusing more on lighting and advertising then they do on functionality. I had a lachesis, really wasn't feeling that mouse at all. Ending up passing it on to a acquaintance on CS:S that was using a ball mouse (the humanity!). Along with my Goliathis (which wasn't half bad to be honest) I had a razer characias (sp) that was one of the worst headphones I've ever owned (around 79.99 when purchased, really felt like I got taken on that one). From a gaming standpoint I feel like the razer software with its unessasary extra sensitivity "feature" just over complicates and doesn't add anything. I wen't from really being a fanboy of sorts for razer to really avoiding them in the past 2-3 years.

I always think its funny when people are like...oh that mouse is so bad, this one is so good. Same damn sensor. I thought it was but wasn't sure and didn't want to talk out my ass.

Just tried the Sensei, it was amazing except for one thing, the dust in sensor issue happens, but its much harder to happen. Everything was perfect except that.
