Apparently from what I could hear in the back when the employees were talking to each other... was that they were told to not fill them as much, but one of the employees exaggerated too much. There could be that same reasoning going on with all these RMAs.

I hope I don't have that bad luck. So far I haven't had any bad experience with them other than having to send a motherboard twice which wasn't that bad considering they paid the second shipping cost. But their RMA process 5+ years ago was top notch and that's why I mostly buy ASUS products and I hope they don't fail me.

I mailed off the old board today..in antistatic bag..the bubble-wrap they sent the working board in..and some peanuts ..
in the usps medium box.That (your board)looks like it was dropped or they took a pair of pliers to the corner of the board.That is unacceptable.

Thermaltake tried to mess with me on a PSU RMA..I let them have earfull..OCZ too..3 mos and ssds die? What kinda crap is that?

Im on the phone with them now. I called to find out if it was in my packaging or theirs when UPS performed the claim inspection.

I called them earlier and the guy that answered happened to be the person that mailed me the pictures a couple weeks ago. After pulling up the RMA, said he remembered the case and mentioned me mailing him the picture of my board. I told him everything that has happened with the case since we last had spoke, about the guy basically sticking to the "damaged in shipping" story as well as the issue with ASUS packing my MB in different packaging for the inspection- which resulted in UPS denying my claim.

He said he was going to talk to his supervisor and put me on hold. A couple minutes later he came back and said that his supervisor asked him to send him the RMA number and associated story. Im supposed to hear something back on Monday/Tuesday.

I still have not heard back from UPS about the claim dispute. If I dont hear back by tuesday, Ill call them.

I've dealt with Asus RMA several times, although never for a motherboard. My experience each time was generally quite positive, so maybe it's just their motherboard RMA division that's bad?

Their video card division offered me a 6970 to replace my 5970. When I refused, they said they were sending my card back. They said that once I got it, I coud start another RMA process and maybe next time they would have a replacement 5970.

That's awfully stupid that their own staff doesn't know the progression of their model numbers. Couldn't you get them to look up the specs so that they could realize it was a massive downgrade? I mean all they had to do was take a quick look and they would realize that the 6990 is the next step up if they don't have an available 5970. It's not rocket surgery rolleyes.gif
