Aquacomputer new reservoirs, Aqualis - Page 6

There are a couple different pump bottoms, one with the fountain and one without. Not sure why the fountain effect wouldn't work.

For the waterfall, you need to use the center input hole. The square base, when connected to a pump top, somehow KO's this, not sure exactly why, but it does state in the manual that you can't get the waterfall effect if you go that route. I assume it eliminates that center input somehow, but not having the square base res, I can't verify.

Thats what I thought...

cause they have specific reservoirs for use with the pump top with fountain effect: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/19441/ex-res-489/AquaComputer_Aqualis_Base_for_Pump_Adapters_w_Nano_Coating_and_Fountain_Effect_-_450mL_34047.html

o_o

But anyway, after some measuring, I found out the pump + res would be too tall to fit in my drive bays. Gonna have to go the other route, separate D5 and res lol.

Maybe the 880ml res is different somehow. I can't seem to locate a base plate for the 880ml version. Heck, I can't locate a stand-alone base plate at all. This is turning out to be a gigantic pain in the arse!

EDIT: closest thing I can find is the entire 880ml res kit, with base plate:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/19943/ex-res-527/AquaComputer_Aqualis_Base_for_Pump_Adapters_w_Fountain_Effect_-_880mL_34052.html#blank

Can't find the base plate alone. It also says right in the description:

So here was the result of my experiment of trying to build my own 880 res using two tops.

So yeah, that's not gonna work. I was positive it would work, but I guess the thread on the aqualis base where the tensioning tube is screwed in is recessed or something. Didn't anticipate that (mostly because I couldn't find any pictures of the base to clearly show that.

So I guess I'm back to the drawing board. I'll probably have to order an entire 450 res kit just so I can get the res bottom.

Oh and FYI, both tops I ordered from aquatuning did not include o-rings. I don't know if they're supposed to or not, but just a heads up.

I need you help mates,

I received my aqualis and I just want to be on the safe side so i will ask the dump question. how do I assemble it?

I mean there is a gasket(4) but is too small to be fitted at the outer perimeter of the pump. Where it is supposed to be fitted? Further more I placed 2 led holders(1,2) but I can figure out where the out flow is going to be then.

Please enlighten me rolleyes.gif

Oh man... it seems that some genius packed your pump adapter doh.gif

That is the wrong o-ring. You need a much larger o-ring for the pump. Please send me your address via PM or to info@aqua-computer.de so you get the correct one with an envelope.

I am sorry that you have to wait a bit longer before you can start to play with you new toys.

Shoggy: I got the new base plate you mailed me (thanks much BTW). But it leaks around the LED area. It's a minor leak, but looking at this, I can't help but think I have an extra hole drilled into this acrylic piece, maybe a machining error.

I think this is the source of my leak, as I get minor dripping come of the LED cable routing hole. Could you verify that the second hole in the middle is a mistake? And if so, mail me a new plate?

Can you do me a favor and take a photo of the front and back of the new basis plate. I will not be in the office before Monday and I am not sure if the base uses the same opening for the optional fill level sensor as the regular PRO and XT base plates. The second hole is correct for the PRO and XT variant since it allows the water to flow to the sensor chamber. It might be possible that the basis plate has no additional hole but even in this case I do not understand why it would leak there because it should be outside the LED area which is sealed with two o-rings - or I have a completely different picture of it in my mind.
