Computer Case Mod Sales

Thread Starter
Why doesn't anyone sell their modded computer case?

I think many people on this forum would be interested. Well, I have been personally interested in a lot of the towers I've seen.

It's because all the hard work, sweat, time for planning and stress used to create some of these works of art cannot be represented in terms of money.

Some of the reasons that I never even tried selling my cases:

  • Cost of shipping
  • Near impossible to get back the cost of supplies used
  • Sense of accomplishment
  • Looks good on my desk/shelf

Yeah I guess. But still, you know I'm right when I say people would totally buy it.

So true. Dang. I envy you for your skills. I just want a nice case haha, but I guess I'll just have to stick to buying a nicer case.

On top of that, I don't even have sleeving! I don't wanna do it since I can't detach the power cables like the NZXT Psu's frown.gif // sad life.

Hmm... why don't people sell sleev'd PSU's...

Man, my Fractal Design Core 1000 cost my $35.  the first iteration of it's mod was with spray paint and easily cost less than $50 for everything.  A Dremel is pretty much a must-have and the 100-series can be found for $40 on sale, then just buy some extra cutting disks, $7/pack of 5.

With some solid planning, YouTube and Google browsing for tutorials, or just asking people on here, you can easily do a case mod for pretty cheap.

It's when you get in to doing vinyl's, side windows, extreme lighting and cooling that prices sky-rocket.

And thanks for the compliment :D

Just start with an idea and a thread on here and I'm pretty sure you will find more than enough people with great ideas and inexpensive ones to get you rolling.

My first case mod cost 6 dollars and made my GPU run 20 C cooler. It doesn't take a big budget and a big idea. Just the time to learn and a few cheap tools.

There are and were a few modders who moved up to selling and custom case mods. Now if you want such things you have Mountan mods and Case Labs.

But true custom work we had a few. The best of the best were Syrillian and CyberDruid. Sadly we lost Sry and the druid hung up his dremel. You can still find their works about.
