Then get 2x8GB.

Is it wrong of me to thread jack after his questions been answered? thinking.gif

I have the same Mobo and RAM, but I also fold during FATs and other folding events... Was thinking of upgrading to 16Gb since I'll have the extra cash, and my current 2x4Gb Gskills can go into my secondary rig that I'll most likely build in the next year or two...

Bad idea? Was thinking of going with 2x8 Corsair Vengeance at 1600, maybe 1866. But alas, I don't actually know that much about RAM as I do my other components...

I believe the jist was, higher Speed was better for F@H, but mainly I'm gaming on this rig...
Mostly BF3, but then I do a lot of games that don't necessarily need that much of anything as well... (Smite, League of Legends, some MMOs here and there). Haven't really photoshopped in a while but my "work" was probably never that demanding at all, very amateur.

I'm gonna be heading over to Fry's in the next couple hours and just wanted some quick feedback, or some reasons why I shouldn't tongue.gif

I don't see any reason not to get that ram. The vengeance sticks are great and even overclock to some extent. I say go for it.

edit: course you will probably get answers from others to go with the imfamous Samsung 30nm ram. And I would agree with that.
