Quick kit questions

Thread Starter
I was thinking about going underwater. I have just a few quick questions.

With an EK kit (I've pretty much decided I want to go EK for everything CPU/GPU waterblocks unless you guys have a better RAD/Pump combo to go along with it),something along the lines of these:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/15036/ex-wat-200/Ek_H30_360_HFX_Advanced_Liquid_Cooling_Kit_EK-KIT_H3O_360_HFX.html?tl=g30c83s137#blank

or

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_202_946&products_id=33430

Will they include ****ty tubing that will easily cloud? Should I just buy the pieces apart from one another and select my own tubing thickness/diameter?

If everything from the EK kits check out, you could lemme know that too if possible. thumb.gif

Try a basket with all the parts in the kit with primochill tube 7/16 and see what it comes too. The Kits do seem to have a good about of discount. The only thing I don't like is the pump, however there are people on the forum that use it no problem at all.

Why 7/16? Is there a specific reason? I'm new to this, so just wondering.

7/16ths ID is a standard thing lots of folks use on 1/2" barbs for a tighter less likely to leak fit. If you're using short stubby barbs like Swiftech barbs, tis a good idea even in conjunction with clamps.

Looks nice, you might want to get the D5 single unit (still with speed control) and get a nice top from EK. As the D5 standard is ugly. Or you could get the D5 bay red combo and tie it in to one.

You just need some barbs and a kill coil. oh.. and a tube cutter.

Thank you so much for your help.

If I get compression fittings instead of barbs, I want to look for 1/2" ones still correct?

Also, if I use a coolant instead of just water, or a dye should I still use a kill coil?

No problem.

compression fittings - need to match the hose ID and OD exactly.

If you want a premix go for Mayhems Dye (best dye out there!), he does concentrate too so that you can dye your normal distilled water. In both cases you will still need a KillCoil).
