are these truly worth my money?

looking to get my wireless card out of my rig to allow more airflow to my top card in the CFX config was looking at these:

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2713549&csid=_61

worth my money to try them or not?

UPDATE:

bought this pair instead:
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7148746&CatId=211

worknig absolutely amazing, download speed went from 768kb/sec on wireless to 2MB/sec on these.

never used them before, but if gaming, I'm not sure how they would react. I say give it a try!

I tried something like that briefly because I wanted to stream blu ray video from my PC to my HTPC. It still didnt do what I wanted, so I went back to my wireless card, which does everything I want it to do, and was cheaper than those in line power switches.

A friend of mine had tried something like them not to long ago with his xbox 360. the problem he had with them was they weren't constantly connected, every once in awhile they would just loose connection long enough for him to get disconnected from the games.

Try going to a USB wireless card. Cheaper, plus it shouldn't drop your connection while gaming biggrin.gif

What he said, you can get something like a USB wireless card, I'ved used it before... you can either plug it in directly or use the the little hub dock thing it comes with. They work ok , but the signal strength isn't that great. The things in the link look cheap, dont even look like they are worth the asking price.

My experience with USB adapters isn't great personally, but I've only had one so maybe it was just a fluke. Anyway, it occasionally dropped connection which was annoying to say the least.

A friend of mine recently got these for gaming, and according to him it works well, but i havent seen his connection speed, nor have i head him about connection drop.

If you where going to get these, i would get them at a local shop, so you can return them if they dont work properly.

got them set up and running, got a trendnet pair instead of the ones in the OP, i get faster dload and i mean way faster

im getting 2MB/sec dload now as opposed to 768kb/sec on wireless N. i have no more wireless card blocking airflow to my CFX setup, and im happy, well worth the money.
