CoolerMaster is on par with Raidmax

Just so you know where things stand these days. CoolerMaster has always had a lot of mediocre to crappy PSUs in their line-up, but they were never downright awful or anything. Usually anyway. But they stayed better than junk like Raidmax.

Well their presence on this forum reminded me about their existence in this market and I've been thinking about them and comparing them to other units some more, and you know what? These days they're on par with Raidmax.

It isn't that CoolerMaster has gotten much worse. But they've been treading water since ca. 2008, doing the bare minimum of improvement needed to stay relevant, relying solely on sales of their crappy units to users who don't know any better. Raidmax on the other hand has improved during that time frame. Don't get me wrong, they still suck, and they lie constantly. But their average quality has improved significantly. In fact, I could even recommend the Raidmax AE series (if it weren't for the fact that they're committing fraud by selling an 80PLUS standard/Bronze PSU as an 80PLUS Gold one).

Raidmax has done more to improve its image in the last few years than CoolerMaster has, when it comes to PSUs. And that's pretty sad.

In the last 3 years I would rate the biggest winner as Rosewill and biggest loser Coolermaster

They are on a steep slope and have really not had a significant improvement since the Ucp series

I was impressed that they went and designed the silent pro m themselves but they dropped the ball after that and became the also ran of the market with them relying on legacy loyalty rather the innovation
