will pfsense allow me to upload custom lists for tcp/udp ports on what to block/allow? (have not managed to get it working yet just wondering for when i do)

thats something at least

any ideas how i could go about blocking the use of bittorrent on my network? ive tried the settings in DD-WRT they dont work at all.

i normally wouldnt mind someone downloading on it but i now have people connecting that dont know what they are doing as far as managing it so (like right now) they have 1536 open connections and the internet is so slow for all the other computers connected to that router that pages do not load.

It's tough, but you could always enable QoS in pfSense then just drop the traffic pipe to like 1k/sec.

ya i tried setting per mac qos in dd-wrt but it only seems to work if the internet is from the wan port which if i plug the router into the switch via wan it wont work , everything says it works, its getting a dhcp lease and everything and says it has internet but just wont send anything through and pages and ect dont load.

note: without the switch in the middle it works fine, the other things plugged into the switch work fine, the internet on that router when plugged into lan rather than wan then works fine just when i plug it into wan everything stops working for some reason i cant quite figure out.

mainly because everything is reporting being working and it all looks right yet it just doesnt work.
