It was a bug in gpu-z.

3dmark 11 was about the same (actually a few points higher on the 7950 bios) at the same clock speeds.

Well, apparently MSI redesigned the 7950 twin frozor 3 recently. It is basically a 7950 on a 7970 pcb. Nice card but I've been dieing to know what'll happen if I flash a 7970 bios onto it. Well, here is what happens.

This is the 7970 MSI bios on techpowerup's bios repository.

Unable your Crossfire setting and see if GPU-Z still shows the same amount of shaders on the card. Possible glitch on GPU-Z?

Run 3dmark11 on 1 card without the BIOS flash and then on the other and see if the xtra shaders help score out.

If the card is truly unlocked that is awesome news for the new TF3 owners.

I have been trying to flash my Sapphire 950mhz HD7950 since I got it without any success. I think it can unlock but just need the right BIOS.

Please upload your stock TF3 BIOS and post a link to it here so I can down load and try it. You have to put it in zip file to upload it.

Crap, it could be a bug in gpu-z. I just disabled crossfire and its reporting 1792. I'm off to try some 3d mark 11.

I know a guy with that card. It had 2048 shaders out of box. Tested heaven and BF3 and it was stable at 1000mhz core. And he payed $329.99 for it last week. Is it a bug or is it legit? I need to know.
