DayZ is Alpha and won't be an "actual game" for possibly a few years. It will also run off the Arma3 engine which looks awesome from the videos I've seen.
Well, they didn't even bother trying to come up with an original name. It's almost like they
want people to know they completely ripped off DayZ (trying to 'steal' some of the 500,000 players DayZ already has?). I hope it's good and all, and competition leads to motivation, but just looking at the pics I can tell that they played DayZ for a few hours and said "Let's release this before the original developer(s) do." And if that's the case, it probably won't be anywhere near as good as DayZ.

The major difference is that DayZ is a fantastic mod for a hardcore military simulation game...We are creating a standalone game, with the entire world designed around a zombie apocalypse, so that players feel completely immersed in that environment.
Major difference? Isn't this exactly what Rocket is doing? I just don't see how this can be better when Rocket is not only making it a stand-alone game with the Arma3 engine, but also taking into consideration the feedback of half a million players. If you go to the DayZ forums, you will see him responding constantly in threads suggesting this exact same concept.
I want to like this upcoming game, but I can't help but see it as a complete rip-off. Trying to win over DayZ's fan-base by giving this game such a similar name is so tacky, seriously.
