Question on interior

Im going to upgrade my cooling to a watercooling (mainly for looks) and im going to add a full window to see everything but, the inside of my case is all steel. So I was wondering if I could wrap the little bit I see, (like the Harddrive rack and side of drive bay) in carbon fiber.
Im pretty bad at painting, (Failed art class forever)

I have the HAF 922 case.

While carbon fiber could look pretty sweet. However I feel like it would be a lot easier just to use a can of primer and a can of spray paint. Just my $.02

Agree with above post. Wrapping in cf could be a little hard, even worse than doing art work.

Could be a little hard, depending on the cases interior. Id have to see it. Although spray paint would be a cheaper route im assuming

Just follow directions on the can, shouldnt be too hard.

As long as you dont hold the can too close, you wont have runs. For best results, usually do the first layer in a somewhat thin coat. Second coat you can lay on a little thicker but not too thick, becareful of creating runs. In tight corners or spaces I would lightly do several times to avoid runs.

Just a little tip, the cans that have the flat spray (I think krylon does) are pretty nice. I feel it makes for a much more even pass. But definitely go for multiple light coats, as opposed to one thick one. Good luck!

Well I figured I would buy the paint tomorrow and was wondering, whats a good black primer and how much primer/spray paint should I buy?

I know it says its for platics and not saying it wont work on metal but why not get a rustolium or enamel? They sell Krylon products at wal-mart (at least here they do). take a trip in there and see what they got.

The color of primer doesn't matter. They're usually gray. What you'll wanna do is get a can of primer, and a can of whatever color you want it to be (I'm gonna guess black). Give the area you want to paint a nice sanding, and then hit it with a coat or two of primer. Then when that's nice and dry do your coats of color. That should take care of it.

Its an inside of a computer. Unless he is going to be in out of it always moving stuff around he doesnt have to do alot of prep work. Yes primer then pain will last longer and protect better. But you dont have to do a great sanding job. You can scuff everything up with a piece of scotch brite. As long as its ruffed up the paint will adhere to it better. Also, after scotch-brite or sand paper, whichever you use, make sure you wipe it down with a cleaner before priming such as brake cleaner or detergant and water, any kind of cleaning solvent will do. Make sure not to tough it with bare hands before priming/painting cuz the oils from your skin will contaminate it.
