what program to convert x264 to xvid avi?

Thread Starter
What's the best program that can convert x264 .mkv and x264 mp4 videos to xvid .avi?

I have Total Video Converter but it doesnt fully utilize all cores, just 30% cpu usage.
I need something that will use all cores at 100% for faster conversion

If I read correctly, xvid codecs do not support multithreaded encoding so the fact that your software does not use all of your cores does not mean it's bad, but rather the codec you're rendering into is limiting the speed to one core. The extra 5% (25% per core I assume) could be decoding the x264 stream.

If you're looking to save time, then I guess you might want to look into a new codec or perhaps try and do more than one at a time or something.

I may be wrong, but go on ahead and look it up yourself.
