I have a feeling that the US patent office is getting paid off by Apple. There is other way that Apple could be granted these things.

Because nobody else bothered to patent it. Simple. If a single authority can hold onto every single possible patent, they can essentially eliminate all chances of competition. That's Apple's goal.
