[Anandtech] EVGA GTX 680 Classified Review - Page 6

While some may have their reasons for wanting a different card, the classified is still a great card that has hit 1377mhz in an overclock...nothing shabby about that.

I'm not sure if this is directed at me.

Regardless I appreciate the reps and the answers very much. Doesn't change the fact that it's completely ridiculous this card has it's number one feature locked behind an 80 dollar pay wall. Especially at 650 dollars.

It is VERY possible ...
And as I am still considering 3 classies , what is up with that Over Current protection can we disable it WIHTOUT hard mods , with the Classified HC's like I am considering this is a BIG make it or break it point, please DO answer smile.gif

Of course its possible, it is also possible on 680 Classified.

But making something work, and releasing it into the public are two different things...

I'm not saying it won't happen, maybe it will, but it is against the rules and I find it unlikely at this time.

Thank you for your reply!!!

I understand and appreciate your time in representing EVGA here!!! smile.gif

BTW if you get some classifieds (or the soon to be released HC classifieds) on tigerdirect or compusa I would VERY likely buy them (3 to be exact) had some gift certificates there from my B-day smile.gif

hope those rules get relaxed soon, especially any regarding the over current protection biggrin.gif

Jacob is COOL cheers.gif

Absolutely agree with this. But you can't expect the guy to come on here and run down his own company's product. His job is to promote his products so that's what he's trying to do. Can't blame him for that...

^^This. Reading Jacobs posts here I have no doubt he believes in the products of EVGA 110%, I mean that is his job as Majin stated. No reason to throw snide comments his way.

Oh I wasn't expecting him to even comment on it. What can he say? I'm sure he agrees but like you said no one is going to bad mouth the product they are selling.

Regardless I'm just disapointed because I'm a huge EVGA fan and it's one of those things where the money isn't even the issue. Just the fact that someone thought 'hey we can make an extra 80 bucks off the people already spending the most on our products isn't that a good idea". Just doesn't not feel right to me and is the complete opposite of how I'd of expected a company like them to operate. EVGA has always been a really stand up company to me.

I'm just really glad to have guys like Alex, Jacob, George, Mayhem, etc here discussing their products with us. Makes things so much easier when you can ask questions directly to manufacturer reps. They can't always answer but I think they try to help us out as much as they can...

And reps, PLEASE continue to talk with us here!!!

I know we can be impatient and emotional , but that is because we expect great things from the products and companies you represent! smile.gif
