New to PC Gaming

Thread Starter
Hi people, first post on this forum! I've been playing on consoles for the past decade and using a crappy OEM 2004 Mouse makes my hand fatigue easily. Now I've started PC gaming for almost 3 weeks and I think my muscles are twisting out of their place with this mouse of mine; help!

1. What's your grip style?
- Fingertip but switching to Palm to relieve fatigue

2. What's your sensitivity?
- It's around a 7~8 on the Windows Settings.

3. What's your maximum budget?
- Well I've burned almost $1000 on my new PC already so I'm slowing down. $30.

4. Do you want additional buttons?
- Back/Forward are a MUST. I dont really care about DPI buttons on mice these days, though they would be convenient I guess?

5. What games do you play?
- The ones I play on PC at the moment are: Starcraft II, GunZ The Second Duel, Tribes:Ascend.

6. Do you mind about prediction?
- What is this? Also, what is Acceleration, and should I be looking to get a mouse with it?

7. Other relevant information:
- Well I hear that Wired mice have nigh-instant response time, so those'd be nice. But Wireless is convenient sometimes so I guess I don't mind either. Also, it has to be a good fit for large hands - I can grip a basketball 100% so go figure.

I dug around my budget range and found a good mouse in my opinion. People seem to say it's ergonomic and it has many of the features I am looking for: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826146009&Tpk=N82E16826146009

Thanks for your help!

First I recommend this thread if you haven't posted there already:

Second, $30 doesn't leave you with very many options that I'm aware of. Below are some links to your better options as close to that price range as possible (more become available at the $60-$70 range):

Third, prediction allows the mouse to help you with your cursor movement instead of giving you complete control. Some games it's helpful, others not so much.

Any other questions feel free to ask here, the mouse suggestion thread or PM me. This is one of the few things around here I'm reasonably knowledgeable on tongue.gif

Since you can palm a basketball, a lot of mice may be too small for palm grip. The mice that you can palm with your hands will be more expensive than $30. You could try Logitech G400 or Razer Deathadder, but they may be too small for palm grip with very large hands. Try them out at a store first.

The Logitech Performance MX is comfortable for palm gripping with large hands, but is not great for gaming however due to sensor and wireless.

Steelseries Sensei is kind of palmable since it is a fairly long mouse, but it has slight (undesirable) acceleration and very expensive.

look at the mouse in my signature build,(sunsonny imperator), i actually ordered a second one to use at my job(actually using a dell mouse). 15$ shipped(from china) takes a week or two. simple and perfect for extra long hand. of course it's not a super duper high grade ultra pro gamer mouse but it's a mouse and it works biggrin.gif

The deathadder is probably your best bet for a big mouse.

For fingertip or what my friends call "Tiger style (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53SFhlntCDI), maybe the g300 might be good too.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104618

Its pretty simple, $35~ and with tons of buttons.
