I never knew that. winksmiley02.gif but ahh well... I think the dual packs are good... comes in handy.

They just came out within the last month or so. The single packs are good, but if you mess up the one application you're left with no backup.

I realized that right after I posted and corrected my statement. You gotta realize though that you're comparing a totally different socket, LGA 2011 vs his 1155

That's very true. From what I've seen the 2600k and 3820 are very similar processors, but the heat spreader on the 3820 is larger so it may disperse heat more easily, or may have more heat coming from it than a 2600k. Either way, his temps are perfectly fine for a 24/7 overclock in my opinion.

I totally agree, 4.8 is a really high overclock, some of the 2600k's won't even reach that high from what i've read, also as per intel specs, there's not even a need to be concerned about the heat until the processor reaches 72 C, and he's got to keep in mind that this is his temps while straining his CPU to the max, my CPU pretty much hovers around the lower 40's while playing COD MW3 while they used to hover around the lower 50's with my CM V6 GT.

Thread Starter
Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I was expecting something way lower for some reason like low 50 but that does seem unrealistic for such a high overclock. I got a twin pack on order from sidewinders and we shall see how it does! Also got some pk-1 too for the hell of it. Cheap enough. I'll try to post some results.
