To be honest I think it should be the other way around.

I agree that it should be the other way around, smaller screen should go with a lower resolution, bigger screen higher res. Even with a 17 inch screen 1080p is going to seem a little "scrunched", any resolution that is a little lower will still look excellent because of the pixel density.
I personally have gotten to see the difference between the previous ASUS G-series models, between the G74sx and the G53sx, G74sx= 17 inch, G53sx= 15 inch and i thought the 15 inch screen looked fine, i personally like that size. My instructor has the G53sx and my buddie has the G74sx btw. I think it comes down to personal opinion on the screen size, but it's hard to tell what you want if you haven't gotten to see/try it out before :/

I think if you order this from lenovo, you can opt for a 1080p screen

I didn't mean it that way and couldn't phrase it properly. I just wanted to tell people to make comments which would help OP and not confuse OP more...

You know if you have the cash to spend, get a projector. That's what I ended up doing. I can go from 20" Screen to as big as the wall can take it. hehe. Also something to think about, you could always rebuild you pc for portability.

Looking at your specs, I would definitely say rebuild it. Get yourself a smaller case for easy transport. Overall I wouldn't sell this for anything in the world.
