Last week Russian developer Alexey Borodin hacked Apple's In-App Purchase program for all devices running iOS 3.0 or later, allowing iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users to circumvent the payment process and essentially steal in-app content. Apple today announced a temporary fix and that it would patch the holes with the release of iOS 6. While Cupertino was distracted, Borodin came in and pulled off the same scheme on the Mac.

That's right. Borodin's new hack allows Mac users to circumvent the payment process and essentially steal in-app content, just like his previous one did for iOS. The new "In-Appstore for OS X" service uses a similar method to fake transactions made to Apple's servers, according to "Getting started to receive your in-app for free on OS X."

I second apple should focus more on security instead of patent trolling. More importantly I think OCN should focus more on non-apple related news.

Every day there are SEVERAL apple articles. It's super annoying already.

When the appeal of your company is your Exclusive Operating system, this is just plain unacceptable. When you buy a Mac you are paying a premium for your Operating system, which in turn would imply that Apple should put the most effort towards that OS. This is clearly not the case though.

Like we've all began to notice, Apple is starting to show their true colors. Which had become increasingly apparent from there money-grabbing attempt at securing very trivial patents.

GOOD JOB APPLE. You are designing yourself into Oblivion and taking all the pubescent teens down with you.

That's not such a big deal as it was on iOS because the Mac App Store is much smaller and the work arounds / security practices they've suggested to developers for iOS will obviously apply here. The fix that's coming in iOS 6 may be pushed out on Mountain Lion first.

Nothing is hacked, your just connecting to his server instead of Apples official server by changing some of your network settings. And also it wont be on your Apple account so it's pretty much useless
