Issues with updates and memory

So I am having quite a few issues getting my computer running. It has been over a year since I have done a clean install on my system. I recently decided to upgrade my old 32gb ssd to a new agility 3 120gb ssd. At first I was having issues installing windows on it, eventually I made it work. Then I started to have issues installing updates. I would get to about 80 updates and it would just get stuck installing. I tried several reinstalls. I finally decided to pop in DLC boot and do a memtest. The memtest gave me back errors with 2 sticks of ram. If I put only one stick in at a time the memtest would pass. I am worried that it is my motherboard or something to do with my memory settings. I never had these issues till recently. It would be great if someone could help. Thanks!

My systems specs are:

1 x CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) Desktop Memory Model

1 x AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX

1 x ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

1 x ZOTAC AMP! ZT-50402-10L GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

1x 120gb OCZ agility 3 ssd

1x 550 Watt power supply

Also I have several TBs of storage

Anyone? I did some more testing and I get no errors when I put the memory in different channels. It fails dual channel though...

Hi and Welcome to OCN grouphug.gif

Have you tried cleaning out the ram slots?

Other then that if you have tried all combinations of ram sticks in slots, I would say it is the MB.

When running MEMtest make sure you run for at least 100%

Also to make sure try some of these other programs. Because there is no one perfect program yet.

Plus what brand is your PSU?
