Ok, i know that some people disable cores to get higher clock speeds out of their cpu because it takes less voltage and less heat.
What all is needed to do this? Right now I am running 4 cores/4 threads on my 6100. Im stable at 4.838ghz. Cinebench opengl says 56fps which is less than 1 fps from my 6 core/6thread 4.644 oc. Now playing bf3, almost all 4 corse are almost at 100% versus when i had 6 cores at 50-75% (dont remember but if fluctuated quite a bit per core)
But when playing bf3 on 4 core vs 6 cores, it seems a little more laggy or slower. Like my framerate isnt as high. I stilll own people but its kinda taken a little getting used to after a game or two.
Is this normal? Is it worth it or should I try going to 4.9-5ghz? or should I just go back to 6 cores at 4.644ghz
