Well if it chokes it why does it give a higher fps in cinebench. I know its two totally different programs or what not but I just dont understand. Hopefully someone could elaborate or explain in leymans terms. I dont see why it would bottleneck it if all 4 cores arent at 100% while playing.

Is there anyway to run 5 cores on the 6100?

I'm talking about the gpu not being at 100% because the cpu can't keep up

How would 4 cores providing a higher fps in cinebench vs 4 cores (granted the 4 cores has a higher cpu clock) be able to happen if the gpu wasnt running to its full potential?

You should get 3dmark06, 11 or Vantage and do some testing to see what is better for you for gaming.

I have them just figured i would use cinebench to get a rough idea unless its not really good enough. I decided not to go with disabling cores. I found a sweet spot in performance gains with 6 cores so i will stick with it. 248-250 x 19 is where I get my best results.

in BF3, its better to use 6 cores. question to op, is there a way you can disable cores in your mobo? mine is asrock 990fx extreme 4 but bios shows nothing about disabling cores.

one thing that sucks about disabling a module is losing out on a FPU.
