How Do I Get Memory To Run At 2400mhz On An Intel DX79SR

Thread Starter
When I configure my Kingston Hyper X memory to run at 2400mhz my motherboard goes into an endless reset cycle. It seems to only support up to 1666mhz. The box states the board can support 2400+ (O.C.) memory, but I am noticing other posts of people having the same issue with DX79 series Intel motherboards. Anyone know if it is possible to get this memory to run at 2400mhz successfully, and if so how?

Have you tried loading the XMP profile or are you entering the values yourself? Because pushing 4 sticks at 2400 is going to be tough on the IMC and you may have to increase the voltage for the VCCIO.

I was using the XMP profile. Are you saying it would work if I used 4 sticks to get to 16GB?

Well the ones you linked are 2gb sticks so I can't say yes tongue.gif It's really up to the CPU if it can push the sticks that far or not. It's not so much the board since the divider is on the CPU.
