boot order

Thread Starter
call me newb, but I have a boot order question. Currently, I have my SSD set as the priority one on my boot order, however, when the box comes up. The first thing it check was the cd-rom even though it marked as disabled. It then follow by checking the PCIE which is not connect, so the next thing it does is to boot from the SSD. This happens every time. Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this? my specs are

Because a PC forgets what hardware is attached to it every time it's powered off, it will re-discover its components when you turn it on. You tell it not to look for operation systems in the DVD drive, but it will still query that drive to see what it is.

It's why I stopped putting a DVD drive in my computers a long time ago.

Well your DVD drive is either SATA or IDE. If you're getting a PCI-E message, you need to look at disabling PCI options.

I don't know. Every UEFI (bios) is different so I don't know what it'd be called or where to find it.

I finally figure out the problem. under my UEFI there is an option for it to check for other PCIE devices. I disable it, and it would stuck at the logo for like 10 secs before it moves on to load window. after updating the bios to 1.4 v it is working much faster, I was able to boot it under 33 sec compare to 50 before.
