Im wanting to do some good and help with folding@home but want to use it for other things. This rig will be running 24/7 or unless I have bad weather. Can I get some help on some build setups that anyone has that could accomplish both htpc and folding. Im hoping to keep it under $400, already own a few parts.

Parts own:

Still need:
CPU

I am noting first off I am an AMD fan, second off I have a soccer match in 30 mins I have to go to, and most importantly third I dont know the os required for HTPC, but when I was running a video capture card to watch tv, the software came with the card and it didn't care what os I had as long as the driver worked (sometimes), but I got out of that amost 2 years ago.

but here it goes:
CPU + cooler + gpu $95

psu $60

cd/dvd drive $18

total price w/shipping (to my address since I dont know yours) $397.70

I hope this helps, but I would try to upgrade the cpu cooler when you get some extra funds in the future.
