I've had my Ducky Shine for almost a year now and it has worked fine, still works fine. But once in awhile, my computer will do this shut down and restart thing when I do a cold boot. Once I switch it on, it will start booting up then shut down (while still black screen before bios) then automatically start up perfectly fine. Now how does this even relate to my keyboard? Well, when my computer does do the on-off thing, I noticed that my caps and numlock key would flash a certain way. If my boot is smooth, certain other keys would flash another way. I noticed this when I unplugged and replugged in my usb cord (doesn't matter if straight usb or with ps/2) I had this issue every time I did a cold boot. After I replugged the usb cord and wiggled it a bit, the problem went away.
Having read some usb connector issues with Rosewill mechanical boards, some people mentioned that the connector isn't reenforced well. The connector is only held down by its pins and solder on the PCB. So if you have moved your keyboard around a lot, or unattached your usb cord many times, the connector would wear out. Examining the usb connector on my Ducky, I noticed it also seems to have this issue. I don't plan to move my KB around much, but the damage probably came from my gf trying to borrow mine all the time (she liked the Ducky a lot), but I'm thinking about opening up the board and checking out what is wrong. At the same time, I don't want to void the warranty...
Anyone else have this problem?
