Don't have an extra hard drive for FRAPS? Want an alternative?

Check this video out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvfPXn5VQ0w

Keep in mind that he derps and says that the video quality is better than Fraps in the video. This solution sacrifices a little bit of CPU usage for much less demanding sequential write speeds.

Unfortunately, I noticed that although this method does work (you can maintain your FPS), it also causes a ton of input lag. I suspect it's because of the Virtual Dub's clunky interface.

Since I had to donate my second hard drive to a new rig, I've been looking for an alternative to FRAPS that isn't so heavy on the hard drive, and is also not very heavy on the CPU either.

I've found Dxtory (video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0KqsTa_HpM), and it's awesome! It's very similar to FRAPS as it creates very large files. However, it seems to make better use of your hard drive, since I can use a single hard drive to record 900p video @ 30 FPS @ True RGB on a single boot drive without losing any FPS. Unfortunately, I can't view the AVI files in Windows Media Player, but it doesn't matter because Sony Vegas seems to work fine with the AVI files.
