Gigabyte GA EP45T-UD3LR Rev1.0 BIOS Failure

Hopefully this is on the right thread...

In an effort to stabilize some newly bought RAM, (Corsair vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A11600C9B) I decided to flash my bios from f7 to f12e in order see if there was any better memory compatability.
I downloaded the BIOS files from GIGABYTE and extracted them to a FAT32 USB. Then I used Q-FLASH to upgrade the bios, all went well until i restarted the pc, now I get frequent restarts, and am unable to reach windows. Sometimes i can get to windows booting welcome screen but then it freezes. any ideas?

I am running my stable Kingston RAM at the moment.

Hello, looks like this thread is pretty old at 3 weeks but I want to put in my 2 cents.

Something similar happened to me with a Gigabyte GA-EG45M-UD2H mobo. I decided to flash the BIOS from version F1 to F4 (most recent) for any/all bug fixes and upgraded performance available. The main update with F4 was "Update CPU microcode" and probably caused some instability. The flashing reset all BIOS settings to defaults, and suddenly I had trouble booting into Win7. POST wouldn't recognize the Del key to get into BIOS so I could change the default settings ("Enable USB keyboard" got reset, though I remember a PS/2 adapter didn't help). I then screwed around with various things within Windows via booting from DVD and just made it so bad that my rig would only power cycle with no video output.

I had to take it to a more experienced friend, who said there was a very strange error with excess entries in the DMI tables, so he deleted the buggy entries.

The solution was to go with BIOS version F3, because F4 had some demons that couldn't be exorcised. If you haven't solved this problem yet, I would recommend flashing to an earlier version.

Yep after another day of thinking of ideas I came to that conclusion too, once I jumped back to F10 firmware update the problem seemed to disappear, Thanks for replying smile.gif
