Actually after comparing some shots from the 18-55 vs the 16-85 last night, I went for the latter after all. The 16-85 will most likely be my walk around lens for general use now, so I figured getting something solid might be a good idea. The 70-300 is way more at home for sports and stuff like that so the small overlap should be okay. It's not exactly starting small but I guess the better glass will be worth it in the end. Oh and I did order a circ. polarizer too so I'm excited how that will work out when the mailman arrives tomorrow.

This little guide will come in handy then ->
How to test a lens
The DigitalRev video is awesome as always. Hats off to Kai for climbing those rocks with that much gear in his hands while just wearing some sneakers. Good advice in there too! I wouldn't have thought that just holding a filter card would work and not turn everything into some blurry mess.
Do mountains of trash count as landscape? I've got some from cleaning the house currently, could as well use them for target practice...

Thanks for helping me make a decision. The process maybe didn't make too much sense but sometimes I'm a little weird. +rep be with ye
