Headset Broke, Help With New Setup?

Hello everybody,

I used a Logitech G35 for about 4 years and it served me well. With it's recent departure, I decided it's time to upgrade into some decent audio.
I was looking through the sticky "OCN's Most Recommended Audio Products" and decided that I would get the following:

  • Beyerdynamics DT 990 (250 Ohms) -- $179.99
  • Fiio E9 Desktop Amplifier -- $110.00
  • Zalman Zm-Mic1 -- $10.00

TOTAL: ~$300.00

I was wondering if this would be decent set up as these would be my first really good set of headphones? Or should I opt into buying something cheaper/better at this price point? I chose these headphones because I listen to a lot of music, and I really enjoy bass.

Thanks!

The mic will break in no time my Zalman mic lasted 2 weeks lol so you probably better off getting a decent desktop mic instead (yeti make some good ones).

But the headphones should be great!

Hey, thanks for the reply and input, it was exactly what I needed.
Also, thanks for the reassurance on the headphones. I didn't know if there was some insider knowledge on these headphones that I should be wary about, but now I'll go ahead with these.

My mic has been going great for a year now, did you ask for a replacement? Looks like it was a faulty one.

Ya was going to recommend this one also but forgot the name! heard good things about this mic imo sounds like a far better alternative to Zalmans mic...... Then again i personally would still go for a decent desktop mic (unless i was in a medium/high noise environment) less likely to break and one less cord to untangled lol thumb.gif
