you could try to get a cheap open box desktop pc. i saw a $385 desktop with an i7 2600k, 6850, 1 tb, 8 gb ram, phantom case, 700w noname.

with the 400 you could get a $100 650w corsair power supply and swap out the card for a 7870 that should be $650.

well, an i3 and a 7850 for the same price would be better because he wouldn't need a huge psu. plus you'd need a decent mobo for the 965 still. I don't think any gpu over $150 will even fit in a build of this price though tbh. he needs a monitor.

bro. dont get a 430w power supply, as time goes by, u lose some watts, get corsair 600w to be safe. if u get 430 and it craps out, then it could fry the everything just buy an i5 2500k, a cheap $84 mobo, a corsair 600w, 4 gigs of ram, a COOLER MASTER Elite 430 RC-430-KWN1 Black Steel / Plastic Computer Case, a disk drive and 1920x1080 monitor, then save ur money and go buy a 560ti and the other 4 gigs of ram so that you wont need to upgrade for a LONG time.

Get at least a 500W power supply.

I used the PSU calculator from here with similar components and it said to have at least 500W.

Don't push that 430W if you plan to get a 560Ti

Add these on to andrew's great build. Get a i5 2310 if you wont be overclocking, and get a 500W+ PSU. Get a HD 6870 for nearly exactly the same performance as a 560 Ti for cheaper. Dont get Jagz build, please dont. Get a 500 Gig HDD, Western digital caviar blue would be great.
