EXTREMELY jerky BF3 on Pentium G630 (sandy bridge) w/8GB ram & AMD 7770 despite good frame rates.

Built this system because I thought it could handle 1680x1050 20" gaming, but I can't find a solution. BF3 is extremely jerky, making it unplayable, yet my FPS according to fraps is good (35 to 60fps). Internet connection is perfect, and i'm playing on medium. Tried both vsync enabled and disabled and vsync helped but not much.

H61 Mobo w/latest intel drivers
8GB (2x4gb) 1333
AMD 7770 (not overclocked) w/12.6 catalyst drivers (fresh install)
Intel Pentium G630 (2.7ghz sandy bridge).

CPU sits at about 100% when in game, but iirc this also happens on my i5-2500k quad core.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried the 12.7 betas and no luck either. I do have the 12.7 CAPs installed. I posted this in the cpu section because the cpu is @ 100%. I'm at a loss.

My i5 2500k does not get near 100% usage, stock or 4.5GHz, when playing BF3 so I am not sure what you are talking about having 100% in BF3 with a 2500k.

I played plenty on a 5750 and didn't get any jerkyness so this is not it.

Have you checked how much Vram is being used? If its maxed out, try lowering some settings to get the usage down to see if that gets rid of the jerky game play.

I tell people this, and most don't believe me, but the PSU will cause jerky game play. Actually, if their is nothing using the CPU besides the game, and you are getting decent frame rates, then it is very likely the power supply.

My 2500K at 5GHz used to hit 80% in BF3, so the Pentium may be a factor. Upgrading to a 2700K dropped it to <40%.

If its really my cpu i won't be too happy. Every review site says there is no difference between a quadcore cpu and a dual core except in the minimum frame rate. Again, I am getting really good frames, its just extremely jerky when turning or whatnot like the memory on the card is set to 300mhz and not 1125. No idea what the cause is still.
