Samsung wonder ram vs kingston hyper ram

I was recommended samsung wonder ram http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096


but would prefer to get everything together at NCIX which does not carry it. Unless I am mistaken, kingston hyper ram was listed as a good alternative, along with corsair dominator (the others I can't find on NCIX)

Are either of these ram

good choices or should I pay the extra shipping and go for samsung? I dont really understand the difference between them either, unbuffered etc...the Cas is the same.

edit: Can I tighten the timings well on either of these?

These Samsung RAM sticks apparently overclock like no other kits. If you're gonna overclock them, it's worth the extra hassle. Otherwise, simply get another alternative. May I recommend Mushkin RAM? Their Blackline Frostbyte kits are pretty good and not too expensive.

My samsung rams were able to do 2200~ mhz on 10101027 1 on my bulldozer platform

Timings were at 11111128 when testing then tightened after i could no longer up the clock

I think the most limiting factor would b the processor itself or mayb my cheap board

Probably like you said, an IMC limitation, they do seem to perform much better on Intel platforms as far as overclocking. Mine is also an IMC limitation, about 1900 and they just die, at any timing frown.gif

But yes, them Samsung DIMMs overclock like crazy, and you can tighten the timings pretty well too. Mine have no problem with 1866 @ 8-8-8-24, 1.50v, but for 1866, I have to sacrifice NB speed, and that makes me sad. Curse locked multipliers.

get samsung ive been able to oc then very easy on my BD and on intel their even better
