Why do people keep comparing it with Intel? Intel is ahead. Their performance per core is much higher. AMD is currently competing with itself. Which is the best thing to do. Go their own course. Get their performance per core over the Phenom II and crawl out of the BD hole. If they can make jumps of 15% with every new line up it will be a very good cpu price / performance.

I am looking forward to the upcoming line ups. Keep evolving the am3+ line up. Keep upping the performance per core and lowering the power consumption and all should be fine.

curious, my 1090T was also very fast to boot and I could open things with no slowdown. my 2500K is a little slower in that response. it seems just plain slower in everything desktop/windows related. thinking.gif

Maybe this chip will be what Bulldozer never was. I hope it can match up to the 2500k in IPC.
i have seen for fx-8320 on processor:

idle: 1405mhz

load: 3500mhz

turbo: 4000mhz

max turbo: 5000mhz

better than 25% for bulldozer processor

i hope

I have been tempted to pick up a cheap 2500k/mobo on the cheap and look forward to lower bills (An overclocked 955c2 sucks some juice), but an 8 "core" 95w post-flame-small.gif I shall wait n see.

I'm still extremely happy with my 1090T...6 cores are still dominant IMO.

If they want users to jump on the FX bandwagon, we're gonna need to see 30% increase over Phenom II. If AMD can't manage to have at least that much of a gain against a two year old, 45nm architecture, I can't say I won't be disappointed enough to jump back with Intel.
I honestly can't get excited for AMD anymore. Could care less. If they can't compete, one to one, with their competitors, then I don't care for the company's CPU market anymore.
