Hopefully they'll bring back this general design with other improvements for the next gen CPUs. Just like when Intel realized Netburst was garbage, they went back to PIII as a base to design Conroe.

Obviously, you can't use all of the 8 "cores"... Bulldozer is still a multi-threaded monster especially for servers since it was a server architecture. It wasn't meant to be a four core FX-4100 but to be in 4P, 64 Cores servers doing highly parallel tasks, and it does that well.

They can't have any of the people that started the company still there...AMD used to have some spunk.
I hope to goodness my 1075T still lives..finding a Thuban is mighty hard nowadays..and I refuse to buy another "FX" chip
How they can compare that to the real FX is beyond me.

When I built my dedicated Linux computer I purchased a Phenom II 965 and so far I've been extremely impressed with it. I run Windows 7 in Virtualbox on top of Arch Linux and it handles everything without breaking a sweat.

I'm not surprised AMD is ending the Phenom II line seeing how they invested quiet a bit into developing Bulldozer and they want to get their money back. Its still a shame though. They have a really great architecture with Phenom II.
