I want to buy my very first headset/headphone.
I've read that headsets offer very few bang for the buck.

Which of this two would you recommend?

Steelseries Siberia v2
Superlux 668B with a ModMic (http://www.modmic.com/)

My main focus is gaming, and I don't have a soundcard, but I might toss in one in the future.

Toss in a soundcard first

Buy a pair of Superlux668B and the Zalman clip if you still have the funds

Or a pair of JVC HARX700 and the mic.

It was either the Siberia v2 or that setup.

Is the Superlux alot better than the headphone you suggested?

Or you could do what I did recently, get the Steelseries siberia v2 with the sound card included. It's like $20ish more, but It's more simple. It also has 7.1 surround sound, so yeah. I use it for gaming as well. I upgraded from a plantronics gamecom 367, and it's a massive improvement.

I can't say about the other one you chose, never used it.

7.1 or 5.1 headphones are gimmicks.

The Siberia also uses USB interface, aka bad transmission of sound. Better using analog

Buying a sound card for a pair of USB headphones is a waste of money

The Samson is better, but it looks uglier imo

However, it is your decision. Good looks or good performance

Are you sure it is better?

The siberia has both usb and analog, you can choose between either one. The usb is the sound card included, the analog is not.

I know, but I might just get a headset to give me better bang for the buck.
