I have noticed that most monitors and hdtvs are not actually 1080p which is why you have to perform desktop resizing. Why is this? Are there any monitors that are actually what they claim to be? and isn't it false advertising (illegal) for them to claim 1080p when they really aren't?

All in all great cooler for the money and has always worked reliably. Excellent for a backup cooling system or for low-cost budget computers, while still being able to overclock.

I think that only applies to TV's. Most monitors are what they say they are. TV's have something called overscan which crops off the outer edge of the received signal to get rid of noise round the edges. Some TV's have the option to have overscan on or off, I have overscan turned off on my TV and it displays a true 1080p picture when connected to my PC. I set up someones TV yesterday that didn't have the overscan option and it dispayed just less than 1080p.

In addition to this many of the televisions that have a PC dedicated input typically don't have the issue. When using that specific port, I have seen the standard DVI input and even HDMI labeled for PC use.
