Thinking of water-cooling for silence instead of air.

Hey,

As the tittle says I am thinking about water-cooling my rig instead of AIR.

I have a I5 3570K, 8GB ram inside a corsair 550D. The system is almost dead silent using 3 500/600RPM fans.

The problem starts when I want to add an decent GPU. It kinda destroys the silent system. Even with the Gigabyte GTX670 wind force that is running real low RPM on idle.

So what I was thinking if I would go to water-cooling (with decent stuff), a rad with 3 low RPM fans that are spinning not more then 600RPM.

That could cool the CPU & GPU and also takes away the noisy video cards, but I would be adding noise from the pump thats needed for the WC.

But if the pump is quieter than a noisy videocard (for example a wind force GTX670), it would mean my system is quieter overall?

Would like some advice on this.

Greetz

PM Dwood,

He's making brackets for the Antec 620 that can be mounted on most GPUs. From what everone has been saying, this allows the GPU to be cool and quiet.

I have mine on order as well wink.gif

That could be a good idea.

For the pump, if you get a good one like a MCP-655 or a DDC and mount it properly with foam and all, it will most likely be quieter than a hard drive so nothing to worry about. That is, unless you don't have another drive except for the SSD, then I guess you don't care... ^^
