I would go for a 7970 because it oced is on per with a 680 oced imo. It is underclocked on stock imo. But I would go for a different 7970 if you have a choice. Like MSI 7970 lightning......

I got the 7970 DCU top card. IT does not have locked voltage. It runs stock at 1000Mhz. ITs the best!1!!

But seriously. My voltages are not locked.

I went 670 because I have had experience with one but both are great cards go for which ever you find for the best price unless you really want Physx in games.

ive decided to go with the asus gtx 670 direct Cu ii, can anyone let me know what temps would be like in sli with one pci slot between the cards because on my mobo thats how it would be st up

If you can get the airflow to the top card through the gap it will be OK I did this with my old SLI setup with a 1 slot Gap, without the fan top card was 5 deg hotter.

Also the top of my 280's had 10 times the heat coming off them vs my 670 i cant even feel heat coming off the top of the card.
