You won't be able to upgrade anything... The Xbox is a custom board with everything soldered on the board. If it was doable, I would have a long time ago when I modded my Xbox.

 

Although I have heard of people installing more ram into the Xbox, but that requires some serious skill as you are performing BGA soldering... That is no easy feat.

The only thing you can do is improve the cooling and customize the aesthetics. Apart from that, there's nothing you can do.

I use to mod people's Xboxs... with upgraded hard drives and DVD drives, but other than there isn;t much you really can do.

If you are talking about the original xbox... throw some linux on it and replace one of the controller ports with a usb(easy) upgrade the hdd with a lockable one(since you are opening it anyway hotswap it for installing softmod) the HDD is NOT sata so dont listen to these fools. its IDE.
