is this the best I can do for my budget?

Okay so I have a Homemade water cooling loop for just my GPU right now, and am planning on adding my CPU off the H100, however I am currently only using a car heater core with two 200mm fans strapped to it, so here were my options I was considering (if you have a better one please present it)

continue using my 5 gallon bucket/fountain pump combo and buy This with 3 of These

continue using my 5 gallon bucket/fountain pump combo and buy 2 of These to replace the crappy fan's I am using now and buy This, use my current crappy 120mm fans on it and call it good till I can afford the GT's

or propose you own upgrade, just keep it all under $120 (if I get anything for my H100 + cash on hand).

Keep the 360mm rad (might be overkill but wth), and get 3 of these fans:

Please note, the fans above are the quiet edition. If you don't mind the noise, then the performance edition might be a better choice.

man do I need some cable managment, but the reason I went with GT over YL was noise smile.gif



Edit: okay forgot to actually say anything on topic ADD anyone? but I am planning on cooling both my 3930k (4.7GHz 1.45V) and GTX 580 (960MHz 1.15V) on this loop and as you can see with just the heater core and 580 (at stock) the temps on the 580 are hitting 55 while folding, which is what I want to do 24/7 once I do this upgrade and because I like to sleep in the quiet and have to sleep in the same room as my computer it needs to be quiet. But I guess my main question is would I be better off getting a pump that will do more than .5 gal per minute under that load (water still heats up so still conducting heat)...

Fans will depend on the FPI rating of your Radiator. If you have a lot of FPI(Fins Per Inch) like I do with GT Stealth 360(36 FPI), you want a fan that ranges between 2k and 2800 rpm.

So keep that in mind when finally settling on what fan is recommended the most. Personally I think those Corsairs are great fans but not at their price. 3 of them through the egg are ~$51. I can get 3 Yate Loon High Speeds for ~$21 with shipping.

I would suggest Yates all day long based on their price to performance. In fact I have three 120x20 High Speeds in my kit and they aren't as loud as you would think. Of course I only have 4 fans in my case and one of them is a 200 which cools my HDD. I have them on max(hot weather kind of requires it) voltage on my RheoSmart 3 channel Controller and they really aren't as loud as people make them out to be. When it cools off more I can drop the voltage to 75% and you can't even hardly hear them. thumb.gif

But if price is no object then I would suggest GTs' or the Corsairs. Just keep in mind your speeds for your Fins Per Inch rating. Slower speeds for lower FPI and higher speeds for higher FPI. cool.gif

FREAKING A! I love it man! Great job! Also those fans you picked out are extreamly good fans. They do make even more powerful ones that I've been wanting to do and to use one as an "emergency fan", though I have NO idea on how to get it run automatically when temp hit a limit.

Of course that's likely due to the 5400rpm rating that fan has. Still I wouldn't spend that much on a fan that I wouldn't get full use out of. Just 3 of those suckers have got to be louder than living in the flight path of a commuter airport. blinksmiley.gif
