The CPU you purchased is the liquid cooled version. You could get by much better (and cheaper) with getting the same 8150 and getting an H-100 or H-60 to cool it with the same effect, much cheaper cost. Just a thought. Otherwise, nice setup!

It really depends on what he is doing, if he is gaming, Spending $2K on a FX-8150 system is an absolute waste, especially when you can get a faster i5 system for less. $1600 i5 system (Click to show)
PCPartPicker part list

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80 92.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($91.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($119.50 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Samsung 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($46.99 @ Newegg)
Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($109.95 @ B&H)
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($144.98 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card ($399.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Switch 810 (White) ATX Full Tower Case ($169.98 @ Outlet PC)
Power Supply: Corsair 650W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Monitor: Dell S2330MX 60Hz 23.0" Monitor ($180.00 @ Newegg)
Keyboard: Logitech MK320 Wireless Standard Keyboard w/Optical Mouse ($29.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $1573.35
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

Also, depending on the games that are played, a GTX 670 would be better.

512GB SSD is a waste, a SSD is meant for speed, making things faster. Get a 500GB+ HDD and a 128GB SSD.

16GB of RAM is a waste

750W is a severely overkill, you can run xfire 7970s or SLI 680s on that

6.5/10
mainly due to bad price/performance

To be honest, for the price, an Intel setup would make more sense gaming-wise.

No point in potentially bottlenecking your gpu or not getting the most out of it when your budget is $2k.

I have to agree here. It's not a matter of being a "fanboy" it's a matter of Intel being better than AMD right now at that price point. Simple as that. Not sure why someone suggesting that is berated for being a "fanboy," that just sounds incredibly childish. If I whipped up a $2k AMD system and someone showed me how I could get markedly improved performance all-around for three quarters the price, I would be very grateful. Not everything is a AMD vs Intel debate war.

Great build. 8/10

Only things I could suggest changing are:
1) Get the FX 8120 (usually for around $200 or less. Has the same potential as the 8150, unless you are going for 8Ghz + under L2N)
2) The FX Processors like high Ram Speeds. So get a decent 1866Mhz kit. GSkillz or something
3) Have you heard of the Catleap Monitors?
4) I don't recommend using the Stock CPU cooler, it's noisy. It cools good, but not great.

I would get better ram other than 1333 and a smaller SSD and a regular HDD for storage... unless he plans to have around 500GB of games/apps that he wants to have the advantage of SSD's speed all the time.
