If I whipped up a $2k AMD system and someone showed me how I could get markedly improved performance all-around for three quarters the price, I would be very grateful. Not everything is a AMD vs Intel debate war.

please go back to the intel section this is for amd my friend is for amd not intel

Only things I could suggest changing are:
1) Get the FX 8120 (usually for around $200 or less. Has the same potential as the 8150, unless you are going for 8Ghz + under L2N)
2) The FX Processors like high Ram Speeds. So get a decent 1866Mhz kit. GSkillz or something
3) Have you heard of the Catleap Monitors?
4) I don't recommend using the Stock CPU cooler, it's noisy. It cools good, but not great.

ill let me know ill see what he says

he says he wants the 512gb ssd so im leave it at that he wants it for the speed but the ram im let him know and see what he thinks

FX 8150..not good unless freezing it.
Junky RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Memory+%28Desktop+Memory%29-_-SAMSUNG-_-20147096 8 GB is plenty
Good mobo..Hard to find a good Thuban to bring it to life..Maybe 6200 or 8120 until next AMD release (hopefully it's better)
too large of ssd..You could get two smaller ones and RAID 0
Too expensive of case..
You need cooling of some sort. The heavier-duty..the better.
Everything else is good! :thumb.gif:

Sounds like a top of the line machine, only thing its missing is the little things, throw some led fans and cold cathodes or led strips in it, as we all know, blue lights cool the computer, and green lights add performance. tongue.gif

a 7850 would have been better along with dual channel memory instead of single channel

i will give it 7/10

Why would stepping down 2 graphics cards be better, and in the OP you will notice it is a quad 4GB kit, so it is indeed dual channel.

I'm not going to rate the build..since I don't feel like I can appropriately judge it. But I will give you my opinion/suggestions. I am assuming this was for gaming - if not, sorry.

I personally would get a GTX 670, 3570K, 8 GB RAM (16GB doesn't hurt, go for it if you want), and ASRock z77 Extreme 4 motherboard (or something similar)...I'd also just get a cheaper wired keyboard with a wired mouse, such as the Logitech G400...but if you like wireless..that's fine..most people are a little more picky about the mice they use. For the PSU, I'd switch the "TX" with a "HX" version..it think it's only a $25 premium.

The case and ssd look good...though 512GB is kind of overkill...256GB ($180 or so) is usually enough for most people...but no idea what your buddy is using his pc for - the 512GB M4 for $399 is a decent price though (sometimes you can do 512GB RAID for ~ $350 w/ promo deal...but I like single drives better myself). If you want 512GB the M4 is a good choice, go for it. I'm not sure about monitor..but i think a Samsung 24" is very nice size and price looks good. Based on reviews it looks like a winner...go for it.

If you want AMD CPU + Radeon + 16GB RAM for whatever use your buddies needs. go for it...i just assumed this was for gaming. so sorry if that assumption was wrong.

Overall, the system i mentioned above would be cheaper and result in major savings....and imho would be more optimal when looking at bang for buck gaming. I personally don't think the performance difference in OP build is much different than what I suggested, not worth the money imho.

But to each his own.
