Thanks for all the help Ironman it helped me a lot! thumb.gif One last question what do you think would be the increase in average FPS if I added a third 7970 in a triple monitor 120hz setup?

Hmm, I dont know how well it scales in tri-fire, but I know xfire it is normally about 90%. Again, it is game dependent, For BF3, it would be better to go with a GTX 670/680.

Get the Samsung 830 series SSD, better, more reliable
Are you getting a good deal on those 7970s? The reason I'm asking is that those reference models are LOUD and HOT!

I would advice against them actually, go with ones with an aftermarket cooler

Isn't the Indulinx controller in the OCZ vertex 4 faster with random reads and writes? I already bought them so theres nothing I can do now tongue.gif and I think I got them at a fairly good price (625 for both gpus) My plan is to gain some extra knowledge in water cooling and then water cool the 7970s which is one of the reasons for me choosing reference gpus as there are more waterblocks for them the other being the low price biggrin.gif

So I just found this video of CallSignVega running battlefield 3 on 3 120hz monitors with just two 7970's getting around 100 FPS I guess that means I'm good unless he's doing something else any thoughts?

I've heard about a lot of driver issues regarding tri-fire 7970's so I've decided to get rid of my choice on the maximus v extreme and switch over to the formula does anyone know the main differences between the boards and whether it will effect performance?

BF3 is one of those games that still looks decent on med graphics, I actually find it easier to play multi-player on medium, because on ultra I don't notice the people since everything is so detailed so the camo works! tongue.gif

Use Newegg compare model.. You really haven't looked into very much luckily these guys are very nice. I've seen people get torn apart for consistently asking questions when the answers are out there. Goodluck with your build none the less! My advice would be to make sure you're usage is worth the price tag of the computer. I myself made this mistake on my first build I played minimal computer games but yet spend $2,500 on a computer with full watercooling then realized I don't use it nearly as much as a computer of that quality should be used. Though this is OCN so w/e lol
